Dualism and the body, left and right hemisphere notes

Historical materialism is the idea that ideas themselves come from experiences which are (metaphorically) projected into new form. This is opposed to idealism which suggests that ideas themselves come fully formed from the sky. Most systems of belief in our world are idealistic. Dualism is an idealistic belief that there is a separation between the soul and the body. This idea then further becomes the world view which posits to divide the world between good and evil, where normally the body is bad but the soul is good.

For the materialist the challenge is to demonstrate how the experience leads to the idea and how the idea leads to the projection.

For example, Pyramids being an example of Hierarchical society projection.

Stone circles being a projection of equal society.

Maze being a projection of Ariadne thread of Jungian trauma, where your shadow walks you back to the decisions taken so that you can follow them back to the centre of the maze (the metaphorical)

Leads to violent society

Leads to traumatic society

Traumatised people literally experience their world (the body keeps the score) as cut off from their body.

Their body is a source of pain = evil.

Those systems in medicine stick to a dualistic system of the body do so unconsciously because that's their experience, the experience of the people living in the traumatised society.

Traumatised people don't feel their body.

That's why we develop science in response to traumatic society of the printing press.

Because we are traumatised out of the body, and so stick to our left hemispheric way of thinking... the traumatised way of thinking... disconnected from the body.

For this reason they don't believe that what the brain knows the body knows.

This is why they reject somatocisation.

This is why they ignore placebo.

Because their lived experience is that the body is cut off from the brain / soul.

SO they experience their body as dualistic. 

That's why dualism comes with empire and writing. 

p.s. Tower of Babel story

The people of the tower (writers) lose the ability to communicate with the people of the oral tradition

"The book" "The bible" - written tradition takes over

THe people of the written tradition (left hemisphericals) no longer listen to the universal language (music) which is right hemispherical. 

The tower of babel is the loss of song / music / oral tradition to the people of the book who can never understand them.
